So, handling the questions with confidence is crucial, and being prepared will make it easier. But remember, preparing and memorizing are not the same thing. Don’t memorize.

Here are some common questions and tips to help you formulate the answers.

1. Tell me about yourself

It will be the first question you hear from the interviewer in almost all interviews. Answer this question wisely. Don’t just repeat what’s in your resume. Start with your current stage of life, then move on to your past experiences, and finally, your future aspirations. Be concise. If you wish to highlight your hobbies here, pick something that will indirectly show your strength or aid you in your profession. Just be sure everything you say is relevant to your job position.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

This question is asked to evaluate your ability to manage stress and pressure at work. So try to mention your strengths that are relevant to your job skills. You might also include examples from your life that explains how your strengths have helped you overcome obstacles.

Coming to weakness, never say you don’t have any. Because we are all human, and no one is flawless. Be honest about your areas of weakness and what you’re doing to overcome them.

3. What do you know about our company?

Your response to this question should show your desire to work in their company. Try not to spoil it by telling the interviewer you don’t know. Check the company’s social media profiles and website before attending an interview to know about them.

4. Why do you want to work in our company?

With this question, the interviewer wants to know whether you are interested in working there. The company’s success is in employees’ hard work. So they want their employee to be passionate about their work and the company’s mission. So answer them by pointing out the strengths and the best of the company and how it helps you to grow in your career.

5. What is your long-term goal?

Your interviewer wants to know whether you intend to stay with their company for a long time. Don’t say anything that isn’t related to your job or organization. Because an employee with career ambitions in the same firm remains motivated, and the employer wants that candidate in their company.

6. What is your short-term goal?

As previously said, your response to this question should be relevant to the position and doable in the short term.

7. Why should we hire you?

The interviewer will interview many candidates for the same position you have been interviewed for. So, how can you differentiate yourself from others? Think about how you can be an asset to the company and how the company can help you in advancing your career. Analyzing this, you can answer this question well.

8. Where do you see yourself in five years?

This question is similar to the one about long-term goals. Don’t say you want to be in the “interviewer” chair or something like that. By asking this question, your interviewer wants to see your vision. Therefore, be insightful and keep your response professional.

9. What are your salary expectations?

Don’t mention that you want exactly this much salary, i.e don’t give them an exact number. In some cases, that might disappoint them if you expect a high salary. You can say that you want a decent wage. Show them that you will value the experience you will gain there more than the money you will receive, yet indicate that you expect good pay.

Additionally, there are some other questions that you might get, such as questions regarding the company’s competitors, culture, etc. So read their website, follow them on social media and be prepared. It will help you to be confident and relaxed while answering.
